FAQ
Questions before you strap in.
What do EVTOTD and EVTOD actually mean?
EVTOTD is Electric Vertical Take Off And Touch Down: the flying golf cart class, which lifts off vertically from a pad, a driveway or a fairway and sets back down on the same footprint. EVTOD is Electric Vertical Takeoff On-water Drone: the flying water jetski class, which launches vertically from the surface of the water and lands straight back onto it.
What exactly is this app?
It is a VR/AR 3D HD simulator for iOS, Android, tablets, headsets and simulator consoles. Paid users learn to drive and pilot fly both SOLESFLY craft virtually, in the manned cockpit or supervising full autonomy, so they know exactly how the vehicle behaves before buying an actual one.
Is this a game or a training tool?
Both, on purpose. The physics, the checklists and the grading are built like a training device, and the world you fly in is built to be fun enough that you keep flying it. People learn far more in a simulator they actually want to open.
Does this give me a licence to fly a real craft?
No. SOLESFLY Ride & Glyde is a simulator for training and evaluation. It is not a certificated flight training device, it does not log official hours, and it is not a licence or certificate to operate any real aircraft or watercraft. What it gives you is the muscle memory and the readiness score to walk into real training already ahead.
What is RF MSED battery technology?
It is the self-charging battery the SOLESFLY craft are built around, harvesting radio frequency and micro sonic energy. It was developed by Maxwell Chikumbutso, Founder and CTO of Saith Technologies, Inc., and is made in Zimbabwe, South Africa. In the simulator you fly the same energy budget it produces: charge state, harvest rate, thermal derate and reserve minimums.
How do I pay, and what am I paying for?
You buy prepaid blocks of simulator air time rather than a locked in subscription. Swipe or tap a card on a console reader, or pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay or an in-app purchase on iOS and Android. Checkout runs on the payment processor's own secure page, so we never see or store a card number. The hours land on your balance instantly, the clock only runs while the simulator is actually running, and a block covers both craft, the whole syllabus and every race mode. There is an unlimited monthly option too if you would rather have one.
What happens when I swipe in as a paid user?
The craft recognises you. Your name appears on the ALIAS Matrix panel with a spoken welcome greeting and your remaining prepaid air time, so you know what you have before the clock starts. Once you give it coordinates by GPS touchscreen or voice it confirms the destination and calls takeoff as you leave the surface, and it calls touchdown when you are safely landed. All four moments are written into your data history with the telemetry.
When can I fly, and when can I buy time?
Whenever you want. The simulator runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and so does checkout. There is no counter to visit, no opening hours and no weather to wait out. Buy a block at three in the morning on a public holiday and you can be hovering ten seconds later.
How do I get on the pre-order list for a real vehicle?
Qualify for it in the simulator. Every paid pilot earns an individual Pilot Rating out of 1000 on each craft, built from skill across six graded dimensions, hours flown and consistency. To qualify on a craft you need 10 hours on it, 12 completed sessions, a rating of 700 or more, and touchdown and emergency handling averages of at least 75 and 70. Then one tap on your private pilot card puts you on that craft's waiting list. Places are first come, first served among qualified pilots, and a place you hold never drops. Full details.
Do time blocks expire?
The Taxi and Circuit blocks are valid for twelve months and the Cross-country block for twenty four. Auto top up is available and off by default, so nothing is ever charged without you turning it on.
What is kept in my data history?
Air time used and which block it came from, the craft and mode you flew, every landing graded on touchdown rate, drift, heading, power margin and checklist discipline, every race result with lap and sector times, and frame accurate telemetry for replay. You can export all of it as CSV or a PDF report, or share a single readiness link.
What are the pre-generated situations?
A library of ready-made virtual situations you load in one tap, with the terrain, weather, traffic and brief already generated: motorsports, medivac, personal transport mobility, coastal patrol and rescue, resort operations, cargo runs, storm response, night and low visibility, and a systems failure set. Every one ends in a graded debrief written into your data history, and every one is included in your time block. New situations are added every month.
Can I race, and can I design my own craft?
Yes to both. There are five race modes across land, water and hybrid, with up to eight craft on a grid. Every event has a traditional class flying the factory SOLESFLY spec, and a custom class where you race a build you made in the design garage: shells, rotor arms, ducts, paint and livery, wheels or hydrofoils, cabin trim, lighting and tuning within the class limits.
Which devices does it run on?
iPhone and iPad, Android phones and tablets, VR and AR headsets, and manned cockpit simulator consoles. Your account, logbook and progress follow you across all of them.
Do I need a VR headset?
No. The full syllabus is flyable on a phone or tablet with touch or a paired gamepad. A headset adds stereoscopic 3D HD depth and head tracking, which makes hover and landing noticeably easier to judge, but it is never required.
How does the voice activation work?
Three ways. Personal voice lets you record your own phrasing for any cockpit command. The Siri Shortcut and the Alexa Skill let you start sessions, launch flight plans and call the craft hands free. And fully autonomous mode flies an entire leg while you supervise, handing control straight back the moment you ask for it.
Where and how high do these craft fly?
Low, and close to home. SOLESFLY craft are built for the Light-Sport personal transport category: low-altitude flying over urban cities and rural towns, typically below 1,500 feet above the ground, day VFR, with two on board. In a city that means pad to pad through class B, C and D airspace with clearances and the tower assistant open. Over a rural town it means uncontrolled airspace, self announced arrivals and a field instead of a pad. The simulator builds every situation inside that same envelope. Certification status for any production vehicle is set by the manufacturer and the FAA.
What is ALIAS Matrix?
ALIAS Matrix is the software that runs the left side of the splitscreen dashboard: US military style Blackhawk software technology, adapted to drive a craft you can keep at home. It handles the vehicle on land or on water, takes a destination from the GPS touchscreen or from your own voice, and holds the craft steady while you do the parts that need a human. The simulator runs the same interface, so the hours you put in transfer straight across.
How do I switch between the drive side and the tower side?
Three ways, all of them one action. Throw the physical toggle switch on the console, tap the half of the splitscreen you want, or say it out loud through personal voice activation, Siri or Alexa. The side you are not using never goes dark, it just steps back, so you keep an eye on both.
What is the FAA air traffic assistant on the dashboard?
The right half of the splitscreen panel, activated by the toggle switch. It shows live traffic, altitude and heading, GPS lock and satellite count, class B, C and D airspace status, NOTAMs, weather and geographical coordinates maps. The simulator teaches you to read it long before you ever need it.
Can I fly with other people?
Yes. Up to eight craft can share a pad or a shoreline, which is how the traffic circuit lessons work. Academy customers can also run an instructor station that watches and grades a student live.
Are these real vehicles I can buy?
The simulator models the SOLESFLY EVTOTD flying golf cart and EVTOD sports flying water jetski so that time in the sim transfers directly to the real craft. Availability, pricing and delivery of any production vehicle are set by the manufacturer, and the readiness score is designed to be taken straight to them.
When does early access open?
Phone and headset builds go out to the early access list first, with console kits following to partner showrooms. Join the list and you will hear before anyone else, at the founding pilot price.
What happens to my data?
We keep what you give us on the early access form so we can tell you when your build is ready, and nothing more. No reselling, no advertising lists, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
